what's not gone wrong for a change !

I've been a forum member for a few years and a high percentage of threads relate to problems as you would expect so I thought it would be good to know of the many owners who have not experienced the commonly known areas - this would also encourage prospective new zedders to take the plunge :D

I'll start with mine - I accept that it is low mileage and has been garaged all it's life but it is 12 years old and has covered 30k miles so you would expect some problems - I also have all receipts from new so if something had been done in the past it would show up.

2004 3.0 SE Roadster :

Original roof motor
Original Springs etc

from the receipts /service records etc the only expenditure the previous owner spent since the car was new over and above normal servicing was for tyres and a new battery. In the 3 years of my ownership I have had two common problems :

the brake servo sensor causing the infamous DSC/Brake warning light to come on - after replacing sensor ( cost £140 inc fitting and reprogramming ) everything back to normal

the rubber seal thingee on the engine temperature switch causing a small coolant leak ( cost £2.60 - changed it myself ! )

Plus wheel refurb on 108's ( cost £260 ) - not a real problem but needed doing

Probably pushing my luck by raising this thread but I'm sure there must be lots of people out there who have had a good few years of trouble free motoring :D

I can only dream of that lol, only purchased mine week before xmas from a local car dealer, decent service history low miles 44 thousand, last couple of weeks its developed a horrible noise from the back when changing down gears so far two garages can hear the noise but cant fix it trying a third garage this week, passenger wing mirror doesn't fold up or moves at all now.

drivers side door window has packed up wont go up or down, rear tyre loosing air after checking it was cracked, got a good deal on some nearly new tyres took them to a local tyre place to be told one was damaged on the inside so had to buy a new replacement tyre, tyre fitter damaged one of the side skirts fitting the tyres.
hopefully the noise will be sorted this week along with the door window, then I can sort paint chips out along with the damaged skirt, then onto some new wheels and non run flats and a god detail. onwards and upwards.

yeah, they are solid cars and seem to age well

I bought mine 6 years ago, a 2003 3.0 with 19k on the clock. I've now covered 81k most of that from UK and Europe road trips.

The only 'broken' items I have had to replace so far are -

Alarm bonnet sensor £15
DISA valve £160
Radiator Expansion tank £100

Obviously there is a lot more I have changed cosmetically, but these have been enhancements / Mods, along with standard servicing, tyres, brakes etc.

But if I had kept the car stock then the above items aren't bad at all for a 13 year old car
