What's it worth?

Now, for the record this IS NOT MY Z4M! :D

But a friend is interested in this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1386897.htm

Reads great right and great value for a fully loaded Z4M.

" Full BMW service history"

but according to my friend it missed its 1k service. Post sales one.

So bearing that in mind:

A)What's it worth?
B) Should he stay clear?

TIA
Gareth

I've only ever been aware in almost 4yrs on Z4M forums of one car that missed it's 1200 mile running in service, and the dealer seemed to be very honest about it.

I think in the end the advice was to stay away, and iirc there was a real issue with being able to p/ex it back to the dealer.

Might be worth a search in case it's the same car.

BTW.. I recognise that number plate - someone's definitely posted about that exact car recently.

Me too... I thought someone on here had just bought it? Could be wrong. Will have a look now.

Reference the price... this one has just been purchased by one of our number...

I would say that car is overpriced when considering it has missed the running in service. Come resale time your mate will get much less Gareth. I would recommend he spends an extra 2k on an AUC car and get a free warranty.

+1.. & I've definitely seen it somewhere.. it's blatantly been bought then rejected. Might still be worth a punt, but at under 20k.

Well it was sold a couple of days ago and the sale fell through. I'm betting once the buyer found out there was no running in service.
I did offer him a mega Imola Red Z4MC with CSL's but it's not black! Andy, Daz...back me up here!

This was one of two cars I was pitting against each other last monday...

AT 1pm I called the independant dealer back and was told it had been sold. Therefore correct, it does seem as if it was subsequently rejected.

The other thing is it's not 28,000. I think it's 30,000 or 32,000. You only get told that when you call....

3 months warranty with it.

So 20,500 for a car from an independant dealer called Tony or Joe, with inaccurate milage, with a missed service, with 3 months warranty...

OR

22,500 for a genuine 26,000 miler, approved used, all the beemer dealer bumph, solid records, 12 months warranty, and in a better colour (IMO)...

I went for the latter. Surprised? :-D

Missing the running in service, as on E46 M3s, is a weird one. It seems that in reality it's unlikely to give any real problems...but the negative plague-like vibe surrounding it is self fulfilling - i.e steer clear unless very cheap and a keeper for some time / warranty expired...dealers (indy and franchise) don't want them, BMW UK theoretically might deny warranty claims and selling it will be hard work. I once phoned an indy about an E46 M3, mentioned the service, you could hear his heart sink as he admitted it had been missed...was hoping I wasn't going to ask that!

That's cheap but not cheap enough I don't think? When there are others around

as above, its no where near cheap enough! these cars are impossible to sell for strong money at the moment even with nothing wrong with them! just imagine the mess he'll be in when i comes to resale with a missed running in service...

if he wants black then this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1377155.htm

been forsale for a while( much longer than the 16 days mentioned) so theres bound to be movement on the price ;) plus it comes with a proper BMW warranty...

or alternatively this one stll under manufactures warranty ;) : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1402976.htm (okay so its a few more quids, cough, you get what you pay for!)

Pawnsacrifice - that 57 plate interlagos at Rybrook. Who bought it?

I know it well, it belonged to a member here - jamiec - in fact it was the homepage car along with mine and mattg about 3 months ago.

Eurohooner has a deposit down...

Looks like a great price for that car, especially for an AUC!

PS... I still keep looking at your ad on PH - stunning car!

Used to drive past that very car every day, lived in Rufford just outside Southport. Never garaged and generally looked unloved, never mind the running in service it wouldn't be my first choice.

Ah, not my car anymore Pawn. Sold to a nice dentist chap that's keeping her locked away as a weekend toy. I'm Z-less and thinking about what to do next.

Cheers though!
