Not sure about price but working backwards with say £14-15k stock I'd settle at £18.5k all in. I know mods don't tend to add much but the premium would cover brakes and manifold at second hand prices for just these two....

For spoiler I think it would have to be a carbon black rear deck swap as its pretty much glued on... As a back up ill make a list of all the parts that peop may be interested then go down the hard route of parting out...

The car is really worth the full price for someone, we talking serious money to spec a car like this.... the intrax and BBK alone much make this thing awesome!!!

You started this thread at the time I was looking to buy. If you'd actually put it on the market, I would have been very tempted to buy BECAUSE OF all the mods and not in spite of them. Unless you relish the prospect of spending a lot of time returning the car to OEM and selling all the parts separately (which will probably be the most profitable way to sell) then I would definitely try selling the car as is.

I would say that taking the mods off will be a much better proposition financially, accepting that it is a lot more hassle.

The Forgestars are probably my favourite wheel. Are they 18s?

Mate before you sell the car take some proper pictures with a nice camera! Under hood, suspension stuff, brakes, wheels etc. It'd be nice to have something to remember it by! (Plus it's eye-candy for the rest of us!!)

still dont know what was the problem with the original motor / ? and surprised bmw warrantied a modded car, a brand new engine normally means factory remanufactured, as only a few new engines are available until there are sufficient core returns for rebuild, after 5 years i'd be surprised if there were any "new " engines left. a recon engine never seem the same or last as long as an original , it would put me off to some degree but that aside you have some sweet mods there, i would think it should sell as is if not silly money, you never get back anything like the cost of the mods, but you dont mod as an investment, you mod for the anticipation, the thrill and the excitement and hopefully the benefits whether placebo or not.

Btw this engine is still being produced and is in use in numerous different manufacturers, like Weismann for example, . Brand new engines ;-) BMW don't use it anymore due to emissions compliance. The smaller firms get away with it. You CAN get a brand new one.

In 2009, I suffered a catastrophic bearing shell failure with the S54 engine of my very modded (2002) Z3MC with 31k miles on the clock, which happened as I was driving around the Nurburgring (F1 track). BMW knew all those facts and provided me with a BRAND NEW "short engine" worth circa £10k ( a short engine is NOT a reconditioned part) and they also gave it a 2 year warranty. I am delighted to have the new engine, with all the latest up-rated parts, and IMO this adds value to my car and to anyone else who knows the history of the S54 engine as the "Engine of Damocles". Personally, I would see the new engine in Flatout's car as an attraction in addition to all the choice mods.

YeahI think you already have a couple of part ex offers on some parts, that's the way you could go.

I'd start a thread with no promises attached, and see how far you could go, and then make a decision from there.

only negative in the respect that the dealers do not always give us the whole picture and on occasion do the least possible rather than the most. btw , short doesnt mean brand new, brand new means brand new, not saying your short engine wasnt brand new, short engine to most peoples understanding is an engine without ancilliaries, we would also have no way of knowing whether a warrantied engine replacement was brand new or recon as we probably wouldnt have seen it until it was back in the car with all the other bits refitted, real oem show short engines as ended as i suspected, and required the core part returned for remanufacturing, even some remanufactured short engines are shown as ended which probably confirms my suspicion that BMW probably dont have racks full of Brand new s54's ready to hand out willy nilly to all and sundry. if the german bean counters have a say, then suspect i know the engine they would be supplying. people on here are sometimes very quick to "jump" on people when they have opinions that differ from what they want to hear, but hey that what makes a forum and this one sometimes needs a bit of livening up, some of my posts are to instigate a bit of lively discussion , always tongue in cheek and Never with any malice, .....so guys... chill :roll: :gfight: :ROFL2: :exitright:

I'm based in London, since 2009 I've annually done on average ring trips (apr and sept/oct) and two uk track days...

Re bhp, haven't really done any as such but as a guide the car pulls away from most csls other than stripped ones, I'd be guessing but maybe around 360ish gained across gruppe m, cats, zorst and manifold.... Biggest gain is from weight, seat I'd say net 50kg,wheels 13kg (unsprung), and maybe 15-20kg across all the other items.
