What’s it worth thread

My cousin is thinking of selling her z4m convertible. She has had the car for 5 years and has a full bmwsh. It’s a silver one with 35k miles- what do you guys think it’s worth for a quick sale? Understand it’s winter and not the best time to sell convertibles but it’s a genuine example

Difficult to say without knowing more about it, but my first thought was 16k, 15k for quick sale

I thought it would be around the £17k mark given miles? Didn’t realise how cheap these cars are for what you’re getting

If it's been going to the same BMW dealership for five years (or more) then give them a call and see what they would offer. It only costs you a phone call and if it has a perfect service history they may be able to sell it as an approved used, which they'll mark up significantly. Dealers were definitely still selling coupes about 12 months ago, but I can't see any E86s or E85s up at the moment.

I’m not up on the prices for these but £15k sounds like a steal for a 35k car, assuming it’s in the sort of condition you’d expect at this mileage.

If coupes with this mileage are 23-25k surely a convertible has got it be high teens? Or am I missing something?

Just looked on autotrader and 15k is way way too low, even for a quick sale imo.

If you were happy to wait then you could put it up at 19 but to get it sold and gone the 18 would be my starting point with a view to allowing a bit of negotiation room

Didn't that red Z4M with 51k not sit there for months on end for 15?

Although that was very Flimper spec though which would not have helped.

It’s worth reading this recent thread until it gets overtaken by banter at the end.

35k is certainly low mileage, but it’s not exactly “exhibition car” or just rolled out of the factory. I’d say upper teens is about right.

First thing is this car is nothing to do with me but I saw it when I was looking at cars about a YEAR ago and it’s still for sale from a dealer with warranty etc it sounds similar to the one being asked about re mileage and condition but obviously can’t comment on spec etc

I believe this is the same car that another forum member was selling and drew attention to in this wanted thread: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1771246#p1771246

It isn’t the car that you’ve just posted!

If that comment is directed at me WTF are you talking about?? Read my post again, who said it was that car?? You asked how much was it worth and then quoted higher figures. I posted a link of a car which is similar mileage and being sold in the trade as a comparison for you to see but quite clearly said I “CAN’T comment on spec” if its comparable between it and the one your asking about in the post is worth :headbang:

Also if the next post is directed at me,

Why hadn’t it sold it’s a decent price and spec!

my guess is that it’s slightly overpriced compared to others experienced opinions already on this thread but as has now been pointed out it’s another members car so I won’t be making any further comment about it.

The reason I referenced it is YOU asked for opinions of what it was worth, you were given a couple of knowledgeable figures on £15k for quick sale, £16k if you were prepared to wait, then you came straight back and said you thought £17k. I then showed you a link of a car that was in the trade about that price that isn’t selling to show you that £17k was possibly a bit too high.

Not really a lot of point asking about the value if you have thoughts about its value anyway.

Titanium Silver is not the most desirable colour for an M so that reduces the market appeal a bit and not knowing the spec, it could vary it up and down again. As mentioned the red M, it had no spec at all so was struggling to sell irrespective of mileage.
