whats high mileage on a E89?

Mine turned 62000 miles today. Which means I've covered a combined z4 mileage of a little over 320,000 over the years. Add in 180,000 z3 miles too. Makes it half a million 8)

What sort of e89 miles are people racking up?

I'm on 21000 miles, 3.5 year old car. Which I think is fairly normal as these cars are rarely used for high miles (excepting yours!).

I must be lucky, - my roof's never creaked and my light never leaked!

I think the answer to your post is that your e89 is high miles.

That's what they're for! :D :driving:

Well perhaps. I'm a bit confused why you asked in the post though, you asked what was high miles and yes yours is. Most cars still do 10-12k a year and cars like these typically much less. Was the purpose of your post different to the question you asked?

Mine had just done 68,000 before I traded it in and used just 1 litre of oil

I have had mine for 7 months and only done 3000 miles

Most of it because of the mouse eating wires and the wheel refurbish. Putting the mileage right over the coming months. O by the way I have 65k on mine but its an 03 e85 so not relevant.

3k over 7 months is galactic :)

Tim.

I just wondered, now that these are no longer new cars, that there may be a few getting near the 100k mark if its a daily driver ( as is mine).

I did 1000 miles in mine in the first 7 days!! :D probably going to be 25,000 mile plus in the first year I think.

I'm glad there are still some people that actually drive their cars.

These cars are designed to be driven daily. They are not exotic cars are they! Lots of miles shouldn't be a problem for these cars / engines. The cost of depreciation is a different matter, but that just comes down to if you can afford to run the car or not!

Enjoy I say!

I haven't driven my car to work for 2 years now. My 3-year-old Zed has only done just 13k miles.

3 1/2 years old, 75,000 miles. No obvious problems (that I am aware of) :D
