i replaced my rear roundel today (it was a bit dented) but found out that the badge was stuck on the car with the aid of a sticky pad cos the plastic securing bit that sits in the hole in the boot lid was missing. without the plastic recepticles, the badge pins are too small and it wont stay on the car :headbang:

my questions are what are the plastic bits called that the badge pins are pushed into? any idea where i can buy them from online?

i tried to find out via realoem but with no joy.

ps if anyone has some id love to buy em off you  i need some for my e39 too, looks like a common issue.........

when i got my carbon badges they didnt have these plastic bits so i just used silicone to stick the badges on and they have never budged.

why not go that route?

Rudd, its a good idea but would prefer to be able to remove if need be in future without poss damaging the paint underneath.

I think the majority of people who have the carbon badges have done it and i would have thought you would be able to remove it from the car without damaging it.

i think lucy even had some stolen with no damage caused.

anyway good luck with the search, sorry i couldnt help any :)

hey (im75) sorry for the hijack.

yeah alfie, was thinking about selling and then the sun came out! 8) i think the bad winter made me lose interest a bit but now iv decided to keep the car and have a play with it, new exhaust, wheels and some carbon fibre coming soon hopefully!

Are you talking about the little badge grommets that go into the hole before the badge, which them make it a tighter fit?

Of so, you probably want p/n 51141807495 and they're about 40p each.
