What would you prioritise

Wow, mixed response! Ahh who am I kidding anyway, I'm lying to myself if I honestly think I'll have the patience to wait for anything anyway!
You guys are bob on though, I care a lot about the appearance of the car. I want to have one of those examples which don't reflect the age of the car, and that you'd be proud to have someone look at it up close and not be able to find fault.
£500 is cheap indeed, it would be £500+VAT if I paid on card for obvious reasons :? But the paint shop was glowingly recommended from the guy who did my detailing, and that guy is glowingly recommended by BMW, so although it isn't a guarantee of quality it's as close as I can get to a reassurance.
I think I'll go with the paintwork, it'll take 5-7 days, in that time I can order in and wait for the springs and/or Eventuri box to arrive if I'm feeling brave

If you get the chips painted they will only come back with Summer just around the corner and plenty of hooning going on.
I'll take this advice. Thank you.

I'm working on stone chips for the 3rd (yes third) week now. It's PITA and after I'm finished they WILL return eventually. So my advice would be buy some BMW touch up and fill them up. You can get good results but it is tedious job and it takes ages to get it right... if you wanna get it right.
I'm not into respraying 'cause you can get all sorts of other issues afterwards. Color mismatch for instance. Personally when buying a car I prefer stone chip to respray.

But if you decide to go on the respray road invest into clear bra.

I'll definitely consider this assuming it doesn't damage fresh paint or the Gtechniq stuff on the finish. Tbh although nobody can prevent it from ever happening, this is a second car so it doesn't get used on long motorway journeys, it's a car for those nice hot days :) But good call, thanks for that.

How many miles has it done?

65k now. I don't expect this to rise much in my ownership.

After seeing the pics you should get the paintwork sorted.

Absoulte disgrace. Don't come back around these parts until its done! :poke: :D

You can imagine my mood when I handed over several hundred quid for a full paintwork correction, and this happened  At first I was convinced the detailer had damaged the paintwork, but to be fair he explained in full what they were and has offered to re-coat the newly painted panels for free.

So yea, I think the paintwork is my priority. I'm a little nervous about potential mismatching to the OEM colour as obviously very few paint shops will buy the paint direct from BMW, they'll mix their own according to the paint code. So that's a concern.

If they're good they'll do it properly.

I had stone chips and scratches sorted out on the 2003 2.5 SE I had.

Without being a complete paintwork nerd you wouldn't have known there had been any work done.

Have a few on the car I have now and they will be done soon too. Drivers door scratch, stone chips on the front, scratch at the rear number plate and passenger wing.

Your car will look great when it's done!

Part of the whole Z4 ownership I'm afraid.

Usually budget for stone chips and cosmetic work on the car each year as it's normal. Unless of course it's a garage queen and only used early in the morning on the two dry days of the year and the roads have been swept for all stones and debris with a police escort!

It only serves to fuel my hatred towards the general public... :headbang:  Crashing their cars and making me late, breaking down because they're too lazy to check their oil or water and making me late, driving slowly and making me late, reproducing at a ridiculous rate spawning new people to clog the roads up ergo making me even more late, opening doors off against my car, reversing into my car and driving off, and now flicking stones at my car and costing me more money! Without these idiots, my property would be immaculate and I wouldn't ever be late!

It's the OCD talking, don't listen to it.
