Ok so ive been out of work for 3 months now! been applying for everything I can but getting nowhere!! im currently living off my savings which are starting to get a little low!! now the question is....... do I drive 2 hours to Walsall and get and new exhaust for the car costing £360!?? I really really want to as my car in my pride & joy & my hobby so the temptation is there! but my sensible side kicks in and talks me out of it

Huuummm your not going to like me for this. But i think you should save what you can. I don't know the ins and out of your financial situation. But what if its a little longer than your hoping ( i really hope it not ) until you get another job. £360 might mean you don't have to sell the pride and joy. Hope the job situation changes soon

X 2. :
Don't do it. Promise it yourself as a pressie when you get a job.
I know its tempting but you have to be sensible. Sorry to pee on your :fuelfire:

Do it!!!

But only if you can afford it and not jeopardise your future, live for now I say but within reason of course...

Nova I wish my 3.0i had sold to you! Would love to have seen it being specced up by you and given the treatment! Shame the lad who bought mine hasn't been back on the forum since day one :(

I know I loved your Z! had so many less miles as this one! plus I bet yours would of had less problems, kinda got done over in the sale tbh, alloys and tyres fucked costing £1000 to sort, EML coming on the same day of buying it, meaning the guy had it turned off knowing it would come back on! split pipes and vacuum leaks!! btw I love living for the now hahaha

... personally I would do as Carol suggests (wise head on them shoulders), it's self perpetuating good karma - treats/pressies vs goals/objectives

Oh no, was that from Patrick (Paza3)?! Not good :( Thankfully my M bought from him has been all good. I'd just love to see my old car on the forum everyday, must be nice for others who've been able to do this. That's why I got my M, live for the moment!

yeah that's right was Paza3, think tbh that's the main reason he sold it as things started going wrong! ah well!

Depends on how bad the exhaust is, if its lowing and is compromising your driving enjoyment, then I would get it done, otherwise if it can wait another month or two, then perhaps wait.

Good luck with finding a new job, keep your chin up and I'm sure something will turn up

As they say on Top Gear, you can always sell a kidney. Go for the exhaust!

Hahaha

My exhaust is fine this would be a pure gift to myself!

I'd save the cash :)

umm, if i was out of work living of saving i would make real cut backs, even contemplate selling my car.

Once you have a job again it will be worth while, new car, more mods etc.

+1. I'm all about living for the moment - if I can afford it though. Good luck with the job hunt.
