RiceyO1. It'll make your BP go sky high holding back your thought's and emotions like you do. You really need to speak your mind, Get it off your shoulders before you collapse.

I have been lucky enough to have lived in Japan for 5 years. And I will be in Germany for 5 years. I also lived in the Philippines as a kid. It's been great. You just have to have an open mind as they may have differing standards than you are used to. But that's part of the adventure and charm of living in a different culture. I don't look down on Germany because they aren't the same as America. I had the same mind set when in Japan. Yet I knew of many young military folk who spent their entire tour in Japan staying at the military post. The biggest excuse I heard was that there wasn't anything to do. Mind you. The military post was on the outskirts of Tokyo. So there was plenty to do and see. The Japanese are wonderful people as well. But they were looking at it from the wrong point of view. They were shocked to step off the plane and not see another America. Those silly xenophobic Americans.

As they say. You dont regret the things youve done, but regret the things you didnt, but had opportunity to do.

Plus have you seen the girls over there! :titshake: Youll never come back!! ;)!

Lots of my mates have moved over there and have no intention of going back and having the time of their lives

I would need to decide what to do with the zed. I have only had it about 2 months! Typical!!!

Based on what our friends down under have said, then the price of a zed is considerably more in Oz. You may consider shipping it if it looks like you may stay.

Re the ex

It's been 6 months.......she's been knobbed to shinola and back........probably by your mate........maybe even your brother and or dad.

Get over it.....go to Oz and find a new chick.

You have a way with words Ricey. I knew I made you come back for a reason.

Where the chuff is 'Shinola'?

Yeah I had a look at a few different things to compare costs. Houses are a lot more, and a used Z4M like mine is about 70000 Aus dollars! Blimey!!!

Yes, you have hit the nail on the head. I did a bit of work out there a year ago and the working culture is different from the UK. More relaxed which was nice!!

Yes! leading a relaxed lifestyle is great. But the hardest part of adapting to the relaxed lifestyle is when you need something done. That's how it is in Germany. You want it when? BWAAHAHAHAHA This is not possible! is the normal response. it's just something one has to get used to. The only thing the Germans do quickly is drive.

You say it's six months since the split? Is there any chance of a reconciliation? Is that why that's a weight holding you down?
If not and there's no way you're getting back together then why not go?
It doesn't have to be forever does it? If you don't like it you can always come back.
It's a scary thing to move abroad I should imagine but it will only seem new for a few weeks and you will settle in quite quickly.
On the other hand if your gut is saying no and you can't work out why exactly, you need to think why that is and work through the reasons you come up with.
Write the pro's and con's on a piece of paper side by side, that'll help you weigh it up.

Good luck either way.

Spot on Carol - I agree completely - and I'm a man ! Does seem to me you're holding a hope that you can get back with your girlfriend but after 6 months ????????????
