What would you do?

I looked out of the window this morning to see my neighbour opposite, reverse out of his drive and bump another neighbours one week old car - He drove away without a glance at either his or the car he hit. There was sufficient force to move the hit car.
I decided that I would tell her who had damaged her new car.

Im sure I did the right thing but what would you have done?

Yes, I'd definitely tell her.

After all if it had been my car that got hit I would hope someone would tell me.

She has spoken to the fella and he said "it was just a tap"
Theres a crease about 150mm long and an indentation and I've suggested to her that she goes back to the main dealer for the fix - As I said its only a week old and a metallic Blue .

The car was entirely on her drive and If I hadn't told her who had done the damage he wouldn't have owned up!
I suppose he will cross me off his Christmas card list now :D

Who needs neighbours like this ? W@@ker didn't have the decency to go and tell his neighbour what happened.
Dishonest coward.

You've done the right thing. How does he know you told her? Maybe she didn't drop your name?

Someone hit my Z4 whilst I was in Scotland visiting the in laws and I left in parked on my driveway. I was gutted when I got back to see the damage to the rear bumper. My house sits at the end of a small private road, so I have a large front with enough room for a car to turn around if both our cars aren't parked there. It seems someone took advantage of this

Totally agree. Hit and run no matter who! He even owned up to 'tapping it'.

I suppose he had to, he is a retired Vicar!
So he must know the big fella is watching even if nobody else saw him do it!

She did tell him it was me who dropped him in it - I’m not bothered- just disappointed that a man who has no doubt preached truth and honesty could even contemplate trying to dodge the column.

The lady whose car he hit said that she would have just have had the car repaired if he had owned up - but as he hadn’t it’s back to the dealer for a full fat repair at his cost.

Ps I’m pleased everyone seems to agree with what i did. I hope there is karma!

Definitely did the right thing..... Unbelievable he thinks it's OK to damage someone else's property, fecker.

Had a similar problem back in the 80's, had a brand new Astra GTE (don't laugh) and the neighbours young son deliberately scratched the front wing, several witnesses. The father said "boys will be boys, I wouldn't be so upset if it happened to my car" he owned a knackered old Citreon 2CV (tells you all you need to know about the hippy c*nt). Mysteriously the next morning the 2CV was sitting on it's roof, I have no idea how it happened.

A retired vicar..? A retired conman then...it’s in the blood Ronk, don’t be at all surprised he didn’t own up....they can’t help it.... :x

There was no way he shouldn’t have owned up but I did think that I should maybe have spoken to him first along the lines of “Did you realise you’d hit her car?“

We used to have a neighbour like this, he's now passed away, but he damaged most of the cars on the close over the years.
We got informed that he drove into our golf at the time and all was sorted, some people just don't give a s**t
