What will happen to the old Z4 value?

I've been thinking about selling my Z4 for a few weeks now. Its nothing personal, I LOVE my car, but I change cars a couple times a year. It keeps me in something fresh w/low miles and I usually end up making a grand or so on each car. With that said, I think when the new Z hits dealer lots our cars will take a pretty significant hit with resale. Its standard with all cars. You may think that it won't affect you if you plan to keep your car for several more years, but (god forbid) if something happens to your car and your insurance company pays you the value, it will greatly effect you.

One of my friends brought a new 2008 Z4 3.0i in August after seeing mine. She totaled it on October 3rd and her insurance company has offered her roughly $15k less than she paid for the car w/around 930 miles! She has refused to settle but its just something to keep in mind.

Ouch! I hope your friend is ok. :o
Broken collar bone and a VERY bruised ego. Oddly enough NONE of the airbags deployed, although the impact was enough to activate BMW assist who dispatched police, fire, and medical.

I thought it was the air bag deployment that triggered assist?

As did I, but I inspected the car myself and none of the bags deployed. I even picked up the crumpled passenger door and the airbag was still intact. She said BMW assist IMMEDIATELY responded.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread. To tie it all together, I'm wondering if the impending arrival of the '09 models is what decreased the value of her car so greatly? Its been almost 3 months now and they're still hashing it out. Lesson of the day: GAP INSURANCE! This was her first new car and she just didn't know.
