So I was having a trip out Saturday and had the roof down, as you do, when I noticed something that has escaped me in the five months I've had the car:

They're different colours front and back!!!? And not in a good, E89 way but in an irresponsible, asymmetric, British Leyland way. Needless to say they were forcibly removed the other afternoon and are waiting to be sprayed gunmetal to match my newly done door pulls.

That's just weird. :o  Who the heck signed that one through QC or have they been replaced at some point. :?

The silver/grey ones are original. The dark ones are a few years newer (2010 iirc.) I presume whoever had it at the time added the wind deflector, broke too many clips taking them apart to add the guides and bought the wrong replacements.

I keep meaning to compare part numbers with realoem as they seem sequential enough to suggest they should be correct

It took 3 years of ownership for me to notice I have one black and one grey B pillar covers, so you're not alone. :tumbleweed:

The paint looks good, did you spray your window switch trim in black too? Looks fresh.

Didn't spot the problem on first look then it was all i could see :( It would definitely upset my symmetry obsessive OCD self if i had this but i'm not surprised you didn't spot this for a while.

Ay. That and the steering wheel trim were very tatty when I first had it as they were the soft touch paint. Did a thread about it a few weeks ago.

@Sharpyboy: It's amazing what you don't see until you see it. Then that's all there is to see forevermore!
