What were you driving when your car was built?

Thought it would be interesting and entertaining to see what people were driving the year their car was made.

I was 18 in 2006 when my E86 was built and this was my mighty wagon:
A 1995 1.3l 5 door mk5.5 Ford Escort, with a genuine 28,000miles when I bought it (from old boy next door that bought it brand new and never used it)
17" Alloy wheels, twin 12" 1000w Pioneer subs with a 2000w mono amp, Alpine 6x9s and Alpine mids and tweeters in the doors... it was so loud I worried about popping my windows

Poor show when the stereo is more powerful than the car  those engines were awful!

In answer to your question, a G29, when it arrives………… :tumbleweed:

Mk1 Focus RS - nice little pocket rocket but the roof didn't open and it had too many seats

Hahaha yes they were, I did get 90mph out of it though... down a hill, with the wind behind me

Nice

I had 2 bikes, I didnt have my own car at the time. 2010.
I had an XT660x to travel to and from work and an R1 for the weekend which I still have.
The car Nicki and I shared would have been a 2006 Mini Cooper.

VW Passat Diesel. One of the worst cars I ever owned. Front suspension collapsed. Electric windows packed up as did the central locking and main headlight switch. Not good for a German built car. I think mine was a Friday afternoon car. :headbang:

well my zed was a 2003MY, and i would have been 16 at the time. so... i was driving this...

i used to own a 1990 Nissan 300ZX, so when that was made, technically i would have been driving this:

In 2019 when my G29 was being built I was driving this:-

I traded it in for the G29 and got a sizable wedge of cash back as part of the deal. I only owned the Porsche for 4 months and just couldn't get on with it at all. As soon as I saw and drove a G29 I realised my mistake and decided to cut my losses.

2013. Had a new Merc E250d AMG pack estate. Probably the biggest car ever made. Great car that did everything well except twisty roads; it didn't like those very much. :D

A limo for luggage
Nice though and a meaty torque figure

I was driving this when my Z4MC was built, and 2 years later I swapped from the M5 to the Z4MC.

2007 - my first coupe, a 2004 Audi TT 225 Quattro which I owned for 10 years and racked up 100,000 miles. Mot history shows it’s still going. A peerless piece of engineering and compact packaging. I could ferry all three kids around, or the wife and luggage for a week, but not both. Easy to chuck a mountain bike and gear in the back. Fast, economical, reliable, great handling, never got stuck in the snow and could fit in a supermarket parking space with room to spare.

Only had two cars since, Toyota GT86 and my Z4.

June 2003 I was in a 51 plate Audi TT- a company car... hated it as I banged my head on the roofline!

Sacked that off (good drive as it was) for a replacement in early 2004; my best company car to date-

BMW E46 330cd- cant recall the colour but was a darker green than oxford green- proper specced up cost me a fortune in tax

Even had the electric rear blind and its still out there now on MOT checker- GL04DXV

ah,, my S2000, I still miss it. beautiful car, but not as practical or as powerful as my 35is..(although now probably worth almost as much) :headbang:
