What Tyres?

Need a new set of boots for the rear and want to ditch the run flats
is it ok to have run flats on the front and normal on the back?

Also if i were to change the alloys what is the biggest I could go and what tyre set up would be best?
thinking a bit more wider on the rear

Not sure about sizes but I had RFTs on the front and nons on the back and it handled like a pig, so I swapped out the RFTs ASAP.

they have 16" on and i think they should be 17" am looking at buying in the next hour a set of 18" alloys and tyres

Dont mix your rft and non-rft.
Go for non-rft all round to suit your budget.

I am replacing all 4 wheels and putting 18" alloys along with them ... 8x18" Front 9x18" Rear

Go for vredestein sessanta. I can check my car in the morning for sizes as I have the same set up, but from memory it's 225/45 on the front and 235/35 on the rear.

That is standard BMW staggered wheel tyre sizes / presume the 18,s are OEM ?
I have run rears Rf with fronts standard rubber & car drove without issue / never mix on same axle but don,t see the issue from front to back ?
It,s not ideal but then it,s not illegal so make of that what you want
