What tyres & wheels?

Hi all,

Apologies for what may seem like stupid questions but I've relied on Kwik Fit's advice in the past and therefore know nothing, and don't want to continue that route now in rolling in a z4 (facelift 2.5i sport) and not a fiesta!

I've a feeling my tread is getting low and I'm probably going to have to replace the tyres soon. Once I've decided what to bUy I may expedite the need to replace by wearing out what's left at a track, but in the meantime I need to know a few things.

Firstly, can someone confirm what my wheels are exactly? I've been told they are 18" and are 108s (is that the fit model no.?) but could do with independent confirmation, plus are there any different versions/ models of these wheels and it so how do I find out what I've got and would it affect what tyres I'd need?

Secondly, can someone advise if possible exactly what size tyres fits these wheels? If not, how would l find out what I need? And again, are there multiple choices here, and if so, what would you recommend? Do I need different sizes at the back and the front?

Finally, l believe l currently have run flats and want to replace them with non-RFTs to improve the ride. Does anyone have any advice as to what would be best, where I should get them from and roughly how much I should expect to pay? Are partially worn tyres a good idea? And do suppliers generally fit them or do I need to get that done by someone else?

thanks in advance

Mike

You have 108s. Yes

Sizes are 225/40 18 on the front and 255/35 18 rear.

Non run.flats are absolutely ok. Don't go for budget tyres. Plenty of decent non flats out there

Edit - a new set of decent tyres, e.g. Vred Ultrac Sessanta, Hankook Ventus, Avon ZZ5 etc will set you back £550-£600 ish

Michelin pilot sports are very well.regarded but cost a little more. Choice is yours
