What tyres are we using in 2024 in the UK?

Main thing for me about the PS4s is they are loud and maybe too grippy for the Z4M think I’d go with the non S next time or something else entirely
I find an all-season premium tyre is great for big slides on track...and are faster in the wet too - win-win :P

I run 245/45-18 on another sports car and had Michelin PSS which I liked a lot. Just changing them (due to age) today and for some reason they dropped that tire in that size, so went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - we will see how they compare.

I don't put enough miles on these cars to wear them out so only change when they age out. The Z4M still has a few years left before I need to change them.

I run Conti SC7 for 2 years on my Z4M and I also have them on two other cars. I can't recommend them enough.
For road use the SC7 are unbeatable in my opinion, such good traction, feedback, very lightweight, great tire noise and comfort. :driving:

What sizes are you running? I can only find them in standard sizes for the front. They’d be my first choice as of today, but it looks like I might have to buy some new wheels to try them

I’m still on the Goodyear Supersports but I suspect they’ve only got a year or so of useful life left. They’ve been great, perfect for my needs in fact, but it just seems so boring to buy the same tyres twice!

I have just put a set of these on before my Euro trip 2100 miles.
Like them a lot.
If there is one thing that i would say is that they are probably not as comfortable ride as my old PS4s

I have Kumho Ecstas on my M and I've been pleased with them but I'll be needing new rears fairly soon, so I'll probably try the Contis based on the above.

Sadly SC7s are not available in the OEM M size. You could fit 235/40 at the front and 265/35 at the rear for a bit more width (at the expense of sidewall).

Just bolted on a set of Yokohama Advans, the new V107s, in OE 18" M sizes.

I've had great experiences with the older V105s in the past.

I've used many of the common mid to premium options on various cars, and the Yokohamas have previously been a really good option for those looking for the best sporty feel and a road tyres that doesn't completely fall apart if you indulge in the odd track day.

Not the quietest or longest lasting, but for me thats not a consideration on a car that's used for 5k a year maybe. Significantly cheaper than Sport Contact 7 or Pilot Sport though, and whilst they do lose out on the longevity the actusl drive is the equal (if not a slightly more agressive and sporty edge).

Will report back!
