what to look out for on 2009 35i?

Hi folks,

I'm about to take the plunge on a sept. 2009 3.5i with 8000 miles on the clock and fully loaded with DCT and M adaptive suspension from a BMW dealer. Question is what should i be looking out for?

I'm asking as the dealer asking price seems to be nearly 1000 below book value.

I know there is 1 year left on the warranty but it would be rare for a main dealer to under-value a car.

thanks for any advise.

Welcome,i wouldnt know myself as i have an e85,but im sure someone will be along shortly with advice for you-good luck

Don't worry about book value, for trade-ins they are offering about £4k below book so they're not putting themselves at risk

Is it the one at £30k? Looks like a nice car but pretty strong money at that.

Not the same here in US. Very, very few used 35i for sale, so they are keeping their value (supply/demand) Most are asking at or above book value. Hard to say what they are actually selling for though.

Anyone in the US that would trade in their 2009 Z4 35i for $5600 under our Edmunds or KBB Trade in Book Value should have their head examined. ...and the salesperson that would have talked them into that "steal" should get a gold medal.

yep - the 30k what you think I could get it for?
Maybe somewhere closer to 27k, 'tis a really nice one that though.

The red M sport next to it is better priced, newer and good spec apart from adaptive.

What are you changing from?

BlueZ4Arizona, the market is pretty slow over here, especially for sports cars or thirsty cars. If I lived in your neck of the woods I'd be in a 35is now, there were some amazing lease deals, shame we don't get similar over here.

"What are you changing from?"

My 1985 M6 just isn't quite up to date, though not sure if I will end up regreting the swap - certainly from a depreciation point the M6 is just going up in value as they only every made 500 UK right hand drive ones throughout its production life, and mine is near mint condition with only 63,000 miles on the clock.

They are, ofcourse, completely different cars and if I could, I would keep both, but wouldn't we all!!

I think that £30K is a good price! I was offered more than that by a dealer for mine last month and I don't have DCT (late 2009 car with 22,000 miles).

Actually, just checking prices on the National search and there are only 9 for sale ranging from £27,999 to £35,000. Ones under £29-30K tend to be low spec interiors and wheels as in no sat nav systems and 17".

I just picked up a March 2010 35i, 7000 miles with Nav, DCT, Pure white interior, & comfort access for £29.5k, no adaptive suspension though :(
