So having just bought a new house I'm thinking of changing my car.

Today I made the mistake of going to see my friend at BMW. He offered me a great deal on a 2010 X5 (great spec and low miles). After a quick drive I love the car...... However....

To get the deal done I would need to sell mine private and would be under pressure to sell it fast too (within 6 weeks).

24,500 miles
Full BMW service history (recent insp 2)
New tyres all round
Black sapphire with imola red interior
Hard Top
DSP sound system
Nav (pro)
Plus the normal ///m goodies :)

If I do sell I would want to get back circa £14,995, the question is can it be done in such a short space of time.

but then I wouldn't bother with an M anything either.

x5 is growing on me. what colour is it?

I never have trouble with decisions.
 
If it doesn't sell I have 2 cars on finance, which would kill me long term.

X5 is black on black, 20" rims but as had spot suspension deleted when ordered so ride is nice.

It's got a great spec, hard top is a bonus and worth £700 this time of year, low miles - almost exactly the same as mine. Personal opinion, but I think £14,995 is way too low - though it should sell in about 3 minutes at that price. I reckon a fairer price - though not one that will sell quite as fast - is about £16,500 / £16,800. Or £16k and sell the hard top separately.

Pretty sure I remember what you paid for it originally, not too long ago either, and under £15k is a lot of depreciation to willingly take on a car that's so mint and you've not exactly piled the miles on...
 
Thanks bing, I may list or a May not lol. The x5 does make sense at the moment but as you say my M is perfect and just had another £500 spent on it. If I do sell the next owner will get a great car!
 
there are so many nice things it is impossible to have them all.

If your bmw mate is helpful he could include your contact details when they sell the x5 and you could be the third owner at some point in the future. Make it into a more convenient purchase.
 
Just been back to view it again with the mrs.

She thinks I will miss the zed too much.

So..... I'm waiting till it's all sorted then going to see how I feel.

Unless anyone comes up with £16,500 then I will sell it and slip bing a few quid lol.
