Going to change rocker cover gasket so might as well.

Can anyone recommend the best to use bang for buck? Thanks

It might help if you said which Zed model you have :idunno:

Changing the rocker cover gasket doesn't justify changing plugs IMO, the only shared work is removing the oil cap and engine cover.

Your zed likely takes long lifespan platinum plugs.
If that is what has been installed, they will last a long time (up to 100k).
They aren't all that cheap either!

If you still consider that it is worth changing them, let us know which engine we are talking about and I am sure someone will chime in with some recommendations.

Sorry, yes E85 3.0 just had full service and only item not changed so peace of mind.

That's fair enough, always nice to have a clean service record.

I believe the 3.0si came with those funky 4 prong plugs from the factory, no gapping required.

Lots of folks with deeper pockets than me recommend iridium plugs for just about every engine! I personally have always stuck to factory recommendations with plugs.

OP, do mean the M54 3.0 or N52 3.0?

When I changed the spark plugs on my M54 330Ci, I used NGK BKR6EQUP. I believe that's OE kit.

Thanks both M54 engine

Same as mine then  . TBH if she's running spot on why bother? Really no point in changing them 'just because'. 100k miles is the suggested mileage change iirc.

I’ll be selling her in August so want to make sure everything is done for new owner 👍

Only planned to keep for the summer months. Enjoy the time so far, improve her (biggest difference being gear box and diff oil change along with the CCV being renewed) lovely open top drive to Bournemouth other day (don’t believe all media report, lots of people behaving) I’ll stick with BMW but likely a 5 or 6 series. The Z is full of character with the 3.0 so want to make sure new owner has best experience, spent a few quid so far so might as well finish off with the plugs being done and she’s good for another year plus on the service front

Was looking into plugs lately, though I don't plan on changing them anytime soon...just curious.

Well the plugs mentioned earlier are NGKs and are the 4 prong ones that are specified, (I have an 04, 3.0...same, same).

Price per plug ranged form $12 to $6+ USD. That large a range got me curious...Sure enough there are counterfeit NGK plugs out there. So when you're looking, make sure you get them from a reputable dealer. NGK has recommended sellers on their website. I'd stay away from Amazon for them, even more so Ebay !

Agreed, not worth the chance with eBay or Amazon.

I believe these are the correct ones;

Works out at £40 for set of six with the the discount

Just fitted 6 of these to mine, can confirm they are same as oe apart from not having bmw stamp. Definitely feels more responsive though the ones that came out were originals so over 16 years and 100k!

Always surprised by the cost of plugs over the years, was a time when we would throw a set in every time we serviced a car as they were cheap, over the years prices have increased and with it reccomended change times. When I buy any car I go through it with oil changes and plug changes so I know whats in there, always best to start with a level playing field.
