They do that - weird, mine are ok, maybe half a mm overhang only. If you get the OEM carbon ones from Ian they should be perfect, with locating holes on the back. But they are £23 each... The boot ones were £13.
You'll get the 70mm one from him which will fit perfectly. Pics of mine :

Which bonnet emblem did you buy from that seller? Prices look a little more attractive than Ian's, although i understand his OEM quality set is the real deal, but they are £150 all in where as these appear to come out at £89. Have you got a link to the one you bough for the front?

The centre wheel discs on my 18" MV2's are 64.5 mm.
Took the plunge and went with Ian Cliftons real OEM fit carbon jobs last night. Bit more expensive than i wanted but didnt want the hassel of sticking some on and reducing the size of the 73mm front etc. £125 inc postage for real carbon OEM fitting seemed pretty decent to me. Il post some photos when installed.
I hadnt planned to do it, but I switched my current account to first direct and got a nice £125 signup reward, so seeing as it was free money i spent it on something non essential but nice. Now to find some more things that will give me free money to fund some sports seats or a cut price hard top for next winter....
