What size wiper blades?

Hellooo :D

I tried getting some new wiper blades yesterday but Halfords didn't have any listed as fitting the Z4!

Does anyone one know the size of the Z4's wiper blades?

Thanx!

21" Drivers. 20" Passenger. If you're going with the newer bracket-less style blades, most don't sit correctly on the passenger side in the parked position. They all seem to have a gap on the last 2" as the blade can't handle the curve there. But they do work perfectly when on. I switched over to the Valeo's and have been impressed so far with them.

I'd buy the oem ones from bmw, the rest (bosche non flat & piaa) don't seem to fit correctly and hang off the screen on the passenger side.

Thanx for that :)

I had Aero wipers on my c class and they worked really well so I thought I would get a set for the Z.

Are those Aero wipers refillable or do you have to purchase an entire new blade every time they wear out?

My PIAA's function far better than the OE's the car came with?

Have you got a curved blade on the left hand side or a straight blade? The curved blade piaa suggests hangs away from the screen at the tip unlike the standard blade.

I have the Super Sporza's 21" & 20" - Both glue the windshield.

I still find Rain-X or any of the water-repellent substances give a bigger improvement in wiper performance than changing to the flat-bladed aero wipers. But I know a lot of folk don't like the Rain-X effect :D

I use Rain-X on all my windows and it also stops ice sticking.

The only time it doesn't work and I need the wipers, is when it's just damp and you don't get enough water on the screen to move the dirt.

Do you not find that rain-x type products cause strange blooming of headlights at night? The PIAA screen protectant made my rear screen hazy so I removed it.

I don't have any issues with it, but I think I know what would be causing your problem. After you apply and remove the Rain-X there always seems to be a film on the glass that could definitely be the cause. What I always do is give that film a little time to dry, then take a perfectly clean and dry microfiber towel, fold it into sections and go over all the glass. This removes that top coat and gives you perfect vision. But you have to keep and eye on the glass and flip/rotate your towel often. You'll notice things starting to smear when it's time to flip to a clean section. Definitely adds a few minutes to the process, but it's well worth the time.

I've just got the flat ones off eBay impressed so far but the passenger side does hang off the end thought it was faulty so got another one sent out I was changing the bosch standard ones twice a year driving me mad just hope these last a bit longer
I've never tried rain x might give it ago :))

In Walmart I can buy a drivers 21" wiper for 7 dollars

Bosch or another make

Is that good? Not bought wipers before lol

I got the PIAA ones (PIAA Super Sporza) and they seem to work very well - even compared to BMW/Bosch ones.

I bought the aero-blade ones for both sides, and to stop the passenger side one overhanging I simply ordered the next size down to OEM size.

They're not cheap (for a wiper), but they last a good year (20-30k miles). I used to use Rain-X/Xpel, but it does nothing to prevent greasy/grimy crud sticking to the windscreen and then you have to use the washers/wipers anyway.
