What size wheel spacers

Mine is sitting on Eibach Pro and 20mm hubcentric spacers. No rubbing.

that looks great but 40mm wider is pretty massive! I think I'll go with 10mm all round, should set up a good stance and not compromise handling once I get the geo sorted.
 
the red one posted looks perfect..... do you mean 10mm a side or are u actually using 20mm spacers ? whatever your using it look really nice with the respectful drop in ride height...
 
woa.... lol.....

if you really give this car a proper workout its going to do some damage...... no way around that at all... 40mm is way , way to much... looks great however.

Not if you go for high quality hub-centric spacers and proper length lug bolts.

Contrary to a non-hubcentric wheel spacer, the wheel bolts are not submitted to double shear as the shear forces are transmitted directly to the hub and not trough the bolts. The bolts only job is to keep everything tight and together - Tension forces - and those forces are no greater than in a spacer-free setup.

i want doubting the spacer.. at all..... I'm doubting what offset will and won't work on the z4.

, 4 wheel setups, nearly a decade of z4m ownership in one car , and lots hands on experience tell me this... it does however look great as said before.
 
Beedub, if it "works" from a drivers perpective is one thing, but you did say that it would most definitely cause some damage if driven hard, hence my previous post explaining why, from a mechanical point of view, mechanical or suspension "damage" is very unlikely to happen just because we installed a 20mm hubcentric spacer.

My Z4MC has been on this setup for more than 21500 miles. With absolutely no damage or suspension issues.

I'm thinking bodywork.... but if you say their is no rub at ET 10 on the back... then.... I'm wrong :wink: :wink: :wink:
 
I thought GWatson's car looked epic with 10mm all round. I bought 10 front and 12 rear and it looked superb. However, it did tramline more on motorways, so be aware of this.

ET10 will work on the rear due to it being a 9" width.

Iv ran an ET20, 10" wheel on the rear without any issues.

I'm planning on running OEM CSL's with a 12mm spacer on the front/rear.

I think you could get rubbing if the car was then lowered or under heavy track conditions.

Bolts? I got 10mm longer than the OEM ones. The parts catalogue (RealOEM and BMWfans) only give the dimensions M12x1.5 and not the length and I can't remember the exact length of the OEM because it's ages since I bought these parts, so you'd be best to measure one of yours before ordering. :thumbsup:

I'm sure they are 46mm thread, but as you say, easy enough to check.
