What should I use?

Ok detailing chums, what should I use?

I'm currently redoing my engine in my westy, it's on a stand while I fettle it and I've been sprucing it up as well.

Is there a product I can use that will coat the engine and bits that will repel dirt wrc it make it easy to keep off?

Something like the poor bits wheel sealant is what I'm thinking of...

I have used ACF on my bikes and dont like it.
Although it does a good job of protecting the surfaces it is sprayed onto it leaves an oily residue that I found dust and dirt stuck to.

Have no issues with it but I do wipe it on with a cloth or small sponge as opposed to spraying directly & leaving

yeah i thought of that, but also not so keen on a layer of oillyness if you see what i mean.

i was wondering if there was a slighly more high tec permanent solution. i know we can get windows and paints the like that self clean, ii think they have Ti02 (titanium dioxide) added to them.

while the engine is out and im spraying it (and all its bits) anyway i wondered if there was something i could add. at the very least i was thinking of a clear high temp laquer. only problem is i picked up the wrong enamel paint and didnt get the high temp stuff so i may have to go back to bare metal again. the plasticote i used on the cam cover before was ok so im hoping ill get away with it and it will just dull in colour rather than flake off.
