What should i buy.

Gers mine was blue. Twin spots. Big coach stripe. At the time it was the biz. Yu are right tho. Pile of crap. I wish i had a mk1. Check out the prices of minters on ebay. Mental money.

Go for the Z but.....

Have you thought about an Audi S3. Best car I've ever had. No squeaks, rattles or shakes.

Power right through all the gears.

Very practical and goes like stink.

S3 - 261 bhp
R32 - 250 bhp
TT 3.2 Quattro - 250 bhp
Merc's - wouldn't bother unless you've given up on life. Nice cars but designed or old folks.

I would think the S3 and the z4 3.0 Sport would be neck and neck in a straight line.

Get the Z4!!!

If I had 20k Id save it and get an exige s for speed or if you just want to cruise around why not?

Old but it has that badge and not a bad looking old stag.

Not interested in the z4m. Meant to be way to harsh and murder to live with.

Erm no, you believe what Parkers price guide say? Just look at their pricing of cars, its b0ll0cks in alot of instances.

Denso, maybe try not to get too fixed on the straight line away from the lights aspect.
The scirocco looks like a mod'd family hatch which is all it is, and I bet your 2.2 would have stitched it up in the twisties no probs!

As for your choices, saw a black Z4MC last nite on expressway, folk will be still admiring that car in 20 years!

Tough choice though, but a good "problem" to have

good luck

M mate. Not as hard a ride as u think. It definitely was better than my previous 2.5i. It hasnt got RFTs which make it a lot more smoother. Test drive and see. try not to get to motorway, try some country roads, twisties and see what u feel. Good luck

I have decided on a Z4 3.0. (i think)
A bit of advice please regarding what i should expect from my own car. Its a 2.2 04 plate, Silver, Full years mot. 4 new tyres two weeks ago. Serviced last friday, Full and complete BMW service history. Oragon black leather heated seats. Cup holders. K&N filter, Ellipsoids, Stubby, Brand new roof fitted by BMW last year.
What do you guys think. The price for these things has been up and down over the past few months.

Thats not to good. I think i would rather keep it than let it go for a price like that. Its totally minted. Not due a service for 15k. just had new brake pads. Does not need any money spent on it for two years with the mileage i do.
I knew i should have got the 3.0 when i bought it. Bummer :headbang:

I'd definitley go with the Z4 3.0. All the Mercedes range just really lacks something to me. They look so boring.

I am in a dilema. Mercs are out. To old manish. Can get a nice 911 for the cash i am looking to spend. What would you rather have. 2006-2007 z4 3.0 or 1999-2000 911??? :|

Still the Z4...

Try the M before you decide, I was going for the 3.0 before i tried the M, it is really nice to drive on a daily basis. I also thought it would be too harsh, I am a girlie (albeit an old one) and come from a soft slk and TT and to be honest apart from it not liking potholes as much you would be surprised how pleasent it is to drive. The extra running costs are far outweighed by the fun. But it is your decision, if you where closer you could come and try mine. Also looked at old 911, but for the money the M won hands down, a lot of the cheaper 911s looked tired and having had an old porsche before 924 turbo years ago - it was like a money pit. Only way i would buy a porsche now is a could afford one a few years old. If i had £40k i would be driving a 911, love them.

Thanks for the offer Inuit. I would have taken you up on it if i was nearer.
The money pit 911 problem is a worry for me. The 911 would have to be immaculate, under 50k miles and have full history. I think i will have to get a test drive in the Z4M and then make my choice.

Good thinking mate. If u get the 3.0 u would always wonder why didnt i try the M and should I have got the M? U wont regret buying the M> obviously u need to think abotu money and so on. good luck
