Hi all.
I will be in the market withing the next few months for a new car. I am looking at three cars at the moment, 3.0 z4, sl350 or sl500.
:D Whats the opinion on here which one i should go for. I love my Z but its under powered (2.2)
My max is 20k.
 
denzo,you change your mind quick,350z to a sl350,,,,get an R32 GOLF thats my next car

I have been looking for a wee while.
Was fine with it till last week. Was sitting at the lights and got hammered by a new shape vw scirocco. I am by no means a boy racer but i was gutted. I need a wee bit more power.
 
Gers i am looking at the Merc SL350 or the Merc SL 500. Same car but with different engines.
Like the R32 but i need a convertible. Love them.
 
had an R32 for a day,civic type R,awesome cant beat them,soft top,boxter 3.2,
audi a4 ragtop,best can offer,not had a merc so dont no... :)
 
Only need the two seats. Have another car thats got the 4 seats. Love the Z. Just had a look on auto trader and i can get a nice Z4m. Could be tempted. :D

Have a look on auto trader. There is one for 19995 with 15k on it. Also one for 18995 19k.
Not as expensive as i thought. I would be looking for one with service just done and tyres mint. IE no money needing spent on it. I only do about 8k a year so servicing would not be a problem.
 
Cant find any of them 2 on autotrader,how about a new scirocco,love the comment

I was looking at Mercedes's website last night, and found some cheap 5-year-old SL350/500 for under £20k. The only problems with SL are reliability, fuel consumption and insurance. The style is still fresh after 6 years. SL is definitely fast grand tourer.

Will you consider Audi TT 3.2 Quattro Coupe? You can also get a 2/3-year-old TT Coupe for under £20k. I do think current TT is better looking than E85 now. :( Only new Z4 can be compared with TT's exterior and interior styling.

I will stay away from 350Z (not German).
 
its no a recliner,does that cut the price down to about 15k then,will thro in a foot stool,

I did not know there was a problem with the merc reliability. My mate has a cl500 and has had no problems.
Dont want an audi TT. I dont like them. Been looking on parkers web site. They are of the opinion that the 3.0 is a far better buy that the z4m. Not as harsh, not as expensive, better fuel, cheaper to service, cheaper insurance, Not much gain in performance from the 3.0. I am being swayed towards the 3.0.
 
Cheapest 6 i have seen is 22k. My max is 20k. If i can get something cheaper then that would be ace.
I have nearly decided. 3.0 z4 or merc sl500. Not interested in the z4m. Meant to be way to harsh and murder to live with.
