What service next....?

Hi Guys,

Just purchased myself a low mileage 3.0 Z4 Roadster and after some advice on what service I should go for next. The brake fluid was last changed 27/07/2009 (at 32K) and the last oil service was completed 06/11/2010 (at 35k). The computer reads 8k until inspection 2.

The car has currently done approx 38k.

I'm assuming the brake fluid will definitely need to be changed but should I go for another oil service or just get the inspection 2 done now?

Depends how many miles you are going to put on it in the next year or so. If it will take you 2 years to do 8k then just oil. If your going to do 8k in six months then get the inspection 2 done.

Service/inspections are required at least every 2 years even if the condition based service indicator has some miles to run, so it looks like it was due the Insp 2 on the 6th Nov 2012? Unfotunately the service indicator does not tell you when the 2 years are up and only indicates when the conditional service is required.

Brake fluid is required every 2 years regardless of conditions, so the square service light will pop up to remind you on that one, and was due in July 2011.

So I'd say you need an Insp 2 and brake fluid change asap

Right, in which case my BMW stealership and an Indi gave me duff info when I had my Insp 2 done in the spring at 2 years, although I was 10k short of the mileage!
