What 's the opinion on roof colour?

There is this lovely Merlot E85 just up the road from me.
It has slowly slipped in price over the last few months but still no interest.
I can only assume it is due to the roof colour?

My heart is trying to overcome the resistance in my head (aided by some goading from a couple of members on here  )
I actually like it, but it would be a short term, do up, run a while then sell on. I'm worried the tan roof would prevent the 'sell on' part of the equation, no matter how much I improved the mechanicals etc.
I know it's rare, but rare does not always equal desirable.
Would like to hear some opinions?

Have you not got a black roof and interior in your garage or has Stuart

Then it will looks a lot better.

Sold mine. Lot of work though but I know what you mean.

Would there be any of the standard car colours that the beige top would suit more??

Maldives or a darker blue?

Personally I like the tan roofs especially on a merlot and white Z.

I've seen that advertised for a while and I think the guy deals in cars. The price does seem good now with the Msports speats.

I am SO tempted. But need to sell the 3.0i and would still have the new 4-pot daily on the drive with wifey's 2.5i.

Merlot and tan is a really fine combo IMO, something you won't see every day. from me!

Wonder why it's not selling then?
Honestly, if I wanted a keeper it would be here by now.

I think that roof goes well with Merlot. What would actually put me off is the extended beige interior. Swapping the centre consoles for black would help a lot, though preferably all the beige interior...

I’d say it’s a mix of poor presentation and time of the year.
Roof needs a good clean to lot a lot better, but the interior looks knackered, especially the handbrake and drivers seat. But cream leather doesn’t always photograph well - a deep clean and feed, paint the wheel rims silver rather than body colour, a good polish and some decent photos and that will sell easily once the sun comes out.

Offer him £2k, what’s the worst that could happen? :)

This is one combo where a real wood dash trim might actually work.

What is the rusty piece of metalwork beyond the DISA valve in the engine bay photo?

I like the car colour and roof/ interior combo, like others have said, just needs a bloody good clean up. The wheels look like they are painted a funny colour around the rim, so maybe a refresh there. Also, I think the alu trim wrapped/ painted in piano gloss black would suit the interior.

The beige roof would normally be a complete no no for me but it works really well with Merlot. I think part of the issue here is the interior is minging :sick2: a good clean up would work wonders. I do agree with a previous comment about the extended beige. Maybe break up the beigness a bit with some black trim from a breaker
