What pressure washer?

Hi all, I've got £200 to spend on a new pressure washer. I'd love to get a snow cannon included in this price.
Just needing some recommendations please.
Il also do a search to see what that brings up.

you can get a very nice quality nilfisk for well under 100 pounds which would leave you plenty of change for a snow foam lance

I've also got a nilfisk (my second one).

But there are 2 things I recommend to have in a model:
1. a build in hose reel
2. a rubber hose instead of a plastic one. That is really so much easier in use, as the hose is much more flexible. Especially with water temperature (cold). The first one I had, had a plastic hose (it already had the hose reel), but I got recommended a rubber hose when I wanted a new one, and the daily difference is huge. The rubber hoses are quite expensive, but sometimes you can get them in an action deal. Nilfisk has a lot of pressurewashers with the same washer but different accessoires.
Don't look too much at pressures. That's mostly a different nozzle. It's the inner pump that controls the output and that's volume/power sized, not pressure sized.

Also when you're done, let the washer pump for about 30seconds with the watertap detached. That way it pumps itself dry.
That way you dont get frost damage and less chalk buildup inside. (chalk damages the piston walls/seals)

Whichever way you go buddy, make sure that you price up a decent rubber hose for your desired model. You'll need at least a 10mtr one to comfortably walk round your Z4 without dragging the PW behind you as you go.

The supplied plastic hoses that they come with are generally too short, kink easily and don't coil up that easy when storing them.

I've had a Karcher before which was fine after I bought a rubber hose for it, I then bought a Vax 2500w one as it was £80 from £200+ in the Vax sale. It simply blows the Karcher away with it's power, makes cleaner the car a whole lot easier.

I have it coupled with a 10mtr rubber hose, cost me nigh on £50 just for the hose, but it reaches around the car with ease.

Snow foam lances can be bought on Ebay etc.... for approx. £25.

Factor in the snow foam lance and a replacement rubber hose into your budget 1st off imo.

I can't recall where I bought mine from as I found them online and they beat the likes of Q Washers and Hoses Direct by a few quid but both of these 2 mentioned supply quality hoses.

Found it.

I actually paid £60 early last year for a 20mtr hose to fit my Vax PW from https://www.centurywise.co.uk/jet-wash

Great service and the hose is very good quality with no issues 12mths on.

i use the NIlfisk one. small and powerful. definitely recommend. I bought it because my pops has had one for many many years trouble free. works well with the snow foam gun as linked as thats what i have. very happy

Im getting annoyed with our pressure washer.
It seems the pressure in our area has been tuned down and the washer doesnt seem to work as well as it should.
I used to be able to use the hose on its own and the pressure was strong enough to be able to clean the monoblock, now its really poor.
Anybody any experience with getting an increase in mains pressure?

Hi, yeah exactly one of the reasons for me purchasing a pressure washer.
Thanks for all the comments, the more the merrier!
I think I have my mind set on nilfisk but still not sure on the model...

Shouldn't be an issue, many people run them from water butts etc. I even run mine from a bucket when the hosepipe bans were in place and didn't notice any difference.

After reading this article I've purchased a 10M rubber hose from ebay for my nilfisk for £35 and it's worth every penny, makes life a lot easier.
That's what I love about this forum always picking up handy hints and tips

Good man, a replacement RUBBER hose is the best advice for any pressure washer.

Cheap as chips with a 3yr Warranty http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=31424

Personally if I was buying , I'd look at a second hand kranzle . German engineering in a pressure washer. Everything is repairable/ replaceable , you get great pressure even from the lower end models and a 10 mtr hose which is both rubber reinforced and extendable .

This is great buy http://www.diy.com/departments/karcher-k4-premium-full-control-home-pressure-washer-130-bar/1254861_BQ.prd

Had one for last 2 years water cooled pump. A lot better than cheaper models

I bought a Qulacast one yesterday, 2000w from Homebase , got a hose reel built in, and a detergent tank, £85 but I got 20% off due to a relation working there so just £69, they are £99 in Argos

Definately more powerful and better built than the Karcher it replaced
