Hi all,

What other benefits does the navigation screen provide other than errr, navigation?

I'm guessing it shows radio / CD information and allows you to browse your Bluetooth phonebook more easily than with a single line of text on the basic head unit?

Is there any other useful info it provides?

I haven't got it but have been reading srhutch and pvr's retrofit guides with great interest! :)

Cheers,

Alex

Its actually a really good option.

When you get tired after a long trip and it senses your heart rate slow it puts up provocative female images and talks to you in a sultry manner about what it would like to do to you when alone. After this, and youre woken up, it lights up a fag and lowers the window so smoke doesnt linger in the cabin. Upon your arrival at your destination it transforms the car into an 9 stone 5"9" blonde with a double EE chest and walks inside with you....

Great eh? All that for an £1800 optional extra.

You get additional board computer functions as well and you can install a nice Intravee unit which enables your satnav screen to function as a iPod (without touchscreen of course).

With compatible phones, you get the SMS on the screen as well which makes it strangely enough, legal to use in the UK.

Digital TV

I use to drop my daughter of in London for two hours in the evening. Would park up in Regents Park and watch News, Sky Sports News etc

This is an option though not standard with Nav

Digital? I thought it was a Analogue tuner?

For me, the Nav isn't great, but I'm still glad I have the screen.

When ordering the M, the SatNav price had dropped to a "reasonable" £1350, and I got an additional 13% off the entire car from factory order so it was really a "bargain" ...

Damn, i got 12% off mine. Must try harder!

The nav screen can also play movies/music videos/podcast on the move with the NavTV module. It's quite useful if you're waiting around or stuck in heavy traffic.

digital tv in the facelift ones i think, it was 2006+.

Mine also does audible speed camera alerts when modded, another handy function you couldn't get without the nav.

dont forget the second mpg counter too.. oh and the possibility of adding rear/front view cameras.. i was googling about a night vision LED camera for mine, seems possible but still expensive.

Is it possible to get that reversing assistance thingy on the nav? I've seen it in action on other cars and it would be fantastic to have it in the z.

I figured it had to be an oem thing as it would need to know the car dimensions etc.
