Quarts or liters?
Umm...Google is your friend:
Quart (US) to Liter Conversion Table
Quart (US) [qt (US)] Liter [L, L]
1 qt (US) 0.946352946 L, l

Is it wrong of me to seek clarity on if a response that was given a number is quarts or liters? Also, if others before you already clarified for me, what is the point of your response? As I stated, I am new to the bimmer world and just trying to learn to do things correctly.

This is the correct filter right?

In reg to the filter, as mentioned get a Genuine BMW one from your local main dealer. They always fit bang on and can be had for less than aftermarket alternatives if the dealer provides good discounts…

I wasn't being snarky...I was interested. A US gallon is smaller than a UK gallon and I've been slightly confused when buying fluids in North America, specifically, I over-filled my uncle's big block Dodge...

1 US gallon = 3.79 litres

1 Imperial gallon = 4.55 litres

I didn't mean to offend you.

It's the same if you order a beer.

US pints only have 16 fluid ounces, UK ones have 20!

I have always used Valvoline Synpower 5W40. A superb oil that although not the cheapest, is probably one of the best and it also carries BMW approvals.
