So true! I just checked for nearest store to me that has oil in stock...Mansfield f.f.s. :o So I've ordered on line as my oil service is due this summer.

not THAT true, a one off mod that costs alot is imo comparable to regular oil changes, its a mounting cost, so yeah i keep my statement it is expensive :-) more mods on their way :poke:
 
Does oil go off with use or age or both. Is the litre unused from several years ago okay to use at next oil change, the top has been opened but nothing more.

It'd last 5-10 years if unopened and stored correctly, but the 'additives' may break down quicker than the oil, or the bottle itself may degrade.

However, if it's been opened & resealed then it's lifespan has been reduced significantly (by 50% or so), and I'd not use it after about a year or two.
