Changing my 100mm Top-fi speakers protem to a mixture of Etons and Audison improved things a lot..it was the easy part..the woofers, subwoofers and new DSP/amp will be the harder parts..
Pretty pricey for genuine 788Ms..offsets are good..found the 9j and 10j widths just a bit wide for my tastes in handling but again each to their own..
The strut brace is nice n blingy but I personally found zero impact on handling..
Strut brace is for looks only, have my eye on a set of 788M’s at a very decent price but undecided, I wouldn’t go beyond swapping out the existing speakers TBH as a moving vehicle is hardly the best environment for sonic perfection and I mainly drive it with the roof down. The audio upgrades will be when I get to the ‘nothing else left to do’ stage

I suspect the speakers will get you 90% of the way there..sounds like you are in an ‘undecided’ phase![]()

I sent them the original Peter, they then used it as a template and fitted the new (far superior) leather to the frame, so I just popped it in when it arrived back. £50, which I thought was ok; I’d seen them of uncertain quality from £20-80 elsewhere.B21 said:jenniferlouise said:Yep, I’ll add a pic or two tomorrow. Oh that’s very nice..Royal you say..do you know how much for the gaiter part? I assume they don’t need a part ex?
Been out playing in the garage. The leather alcohol cleaner is brilliant. Wasn’t going to buy it BUT it pulls out much more dirt than the Autoglym cleaner alone. The ‘paint’ has filled the scratches nicely. I was a bit impatient on the bolster; it’s covered well but it is harder (for me) treating a larger area. I’d recommend it. Given the passenger seat and part of the driver seat an Autoglym leather cream treatment (I always add it six-monthly to my cars to reduce creasing and cracking). Finish it tomorrow when the paint is fully dry.jenniferlouise said:The Furniture Clinic have done their magic… box arrived back today with a pot of colour matched paint, alcohol based cleaner and, importantly, the door handle trim piece!

Gingerlomax said:1st mod done over the weekend. Removed the Cone Filters and replaced with stock air box and K&N filter. Next Mod is to de-crome the face lift indicators that are sat in a box in the shed and fit them.

Out of interest why did you not go with a stock filter?

There was not much difference in price and the K&N panel filter wont need changing at every service..

Ah OK..I understand that the K+N filtraton is very ppor compared to a paper filter..but each to their own![]()

Will be better than the 2 cone filters sucking in hot engine air..

For sure, but not as much as people think..

The increase in warm air in the engine bay is relatively immaterial compared to the temperature increases caused by turbo compression..
A good FMIC makes much more difference than whether you have a stock box, CAI or DCIs..
Personally I like the stock airbox and if I can hang onto a paper filter with my next stage of tune I will..as long as I'm not damaging the turbos I'll even sacrifice a few ponies for clean filtered air..
