what kind of car is a z4?

Oh ! Andrew D ! You are so so so so right. You have just summed up all my opinions concerning This Poor mans porsche thing in that last post. Just sold my last of 3 boxsters and all the S variant. Got sick to the back teeth of hearing poor man line and not a 911. I said to prople (and not being flash) if I wanted a 911 I could have bought one but as I wanted a 2 seater roadster with a Porsche badge and that was the only one theydid ,that would be what I was getting....Noy yoo keen on the 911 cab antway
Back to the original thread. This whole gender specific tosh is just that, Unfortubately pretty much ANY 2 seater roadster can get tarred with either the hairdresser image. Has anyone ever considered that hairdressers can be very nice people and I dare say some earn seriously more wedge than me If my wifes 5 weekly hair do bill is anything to go by !
Try to ignore it . you will never rid the world of envy ,sarcasm or jealousy. Just beware of the real crettins out there who don t just want to hurt your feelings but are so wracked with green eyes they will hurt your car
mike

I agree with the fact that the Z4 aint a girls car at all...simply lookat how the vehicle is presented & designed, simply looks like a tough car, strong & solid that wouldnt crumble, now the z3 on the other hand, well thats another story  Bottom line is the ladies love 'em & ur mates are simply jealous...enjoy

The concept of "men's" or "girl's" cars always amuses me. Surely it's in the eye of the beholder, by which I mean the purchaser will be the judge of whether it's a suitable car for his or herself. I can honestly say I've never considered myself more or less masculine as a result of driving a car, be it my Z4, my old Smart Roadster, a Boxster or an SUV.

I think there's a lot of credibility to the envy theory; I've never had a 911 owner tell me it's a girls car. Well, actually nobody has ever told me that, but I expect I wouldn't hear it from someone with a comparable or superior vehicle.

As an aside, and I'm not wanting to ruffle feathers, but another thing that vexes me is derision of the Boxster on the basis that either it's a poor man's Porsche or else it's not a 911. In both cases partially true but totally meaningless (although the former should be ammended from "poor man" to "poor Porsche owner"; I haven't seen many Boxsters outside the Job Centre Plus). There's always a bigger fish; a Z4 is a poor man's E93 M3 Cab, an SL63 is a poor man's SLR, moreover an SLR is a poor man's CLK-GTR, and my personal favourite: a 911 is a poor man's Carrera GT. Yes, there are better cars than a Boxster, but that doesn't make it a bad one. If it did, what would that make our Z4's? Due credit to the Porsche marketing department though; they seem to have managed to build the 911 into such a status symbol that people often consider a 986S as grossly inferior to the comparably capable 996 3.4.
One of the best threads I have read being an ex Porsche bloke myself

Newb-mega-necro-bump... :tumbleweed:

With the proportions the Z4 resembles a massive phallus!

But in 2019 I suppose that's considered 'non binary' :titshake:

There's some outrageously sexist nonsense in this post, thank God people's attitudes have changed, read: thank God people have pulled their heads out of their arseholes.

I consider the Z4 as 'pan-sexual'.

You could be a butch hairdresser, an effeminate bodybuilder, a sexy estate agent, or even just an old git.

FFS!

It's a car. End of.
Personal choice, nothing whatsoever to do with sex, gender, (yes apparently it's not the same thing anymore!) colour or creed (or indeed any one else!).
I drive a Z4 3.0si Coupé, a MX5,911 S,VW Passat. I drive which ever I choose depending on where I am going and/or what the weather is doing, NOT because I am feeling a little 'non-binary' that day! What a lot of bollocks. :x

At the end of the day when your laid out on the slab and cut open your either Male or Female no matter how much surgery unless you were born a Hermafrodite

It's a sportscar. Built for men who love to use all 4 limbs to drive faster up a mountain road than most any other car just for a thrill. If that's a girl's car bring her on - I'd love to meet her :D

Your E89 was designed by two women, Juliane Blasi (exterior) and Nadya Arnaout (interior) and what a great job they did

Not as nippy as the Mx5. Not as portly as the porker and as for the Passat.

It’s nice to see that the forum and it’s members have evolved since the OP’s first comments, then I read directly above and it seems we’ve not :P

There is no such thing as a man’s or women’s car, just personal preference
