What is your winter project work, you have planned for your Z

I have plan to change the con rod big end bearings in my S54 engine this will include a new oil pump and new ARP rod bolts

Do the valve shims as I have around 4 that are 0.002" out, at the same time remove all the shims and measure and log the size and position of each shim to make it easier to do next time so if a valve is 0.002" out and I know the size of the shim that is fitted I can order the right one without having to remove it twice.

Check all thing to do with the suspension bushes.

Maybe a few cosmetic bits under the bonnet.

My winter work is to change all four disks and pads, remove caliper’s and send them off for a rebuild and paint in original colour.

Mostly small-ish stuff:

Fit new door membranes
Fit replacement horn
Checked out front suspension - I'm sure my driver-side front is lower than it should be
Fit M3 seats purchased from a forum member a few weeks back
Drill out rubber bung in the roof-motor-well (motor is in the boot, but the well keeps filling up and getting blocked from the top)
Replace passenger-side rear wing with the freebe I picked up last week
Re-seat softtop - there is a gap above the roof-motor-well that's letting the water in (see above)
Fix broken bumper brackets
Fix broken headlight mounts
Fix the passenger-side front corner after someone whack it in a very clumsy parking manoeuvre

Stash of Costa serviettes I have in door pocket are a bit creased up - might switch them out for some newer ones.

Lots of little bits on mine, plus a couple of big bits! Mainly paint work:

Respray rear passenger wing panel.
Respray side skirts.
Spray interior trim.
Spray wing mirror bases gloss black.
Paint all four calipers.
Replace water pump.
Order and fit Maxton Design front splitter, side skirt extensions, and rear spoiler.

New front struts, a couple of brake pipes, engine, gearbox and axle oil change, and a good clean/ refurb of the seats ( and anything else I find )

Now that I've completed the auto to MT conversion its going to be time to do some bodywork...

- Aero skirts
- Front and rear bumpers
- quad exhaust conversion
- LED angel eyes

My biggest decision is going to be whether to stay Black Sapphire, or do a full colour swap to either Carbon Black or Azurite Black

Register my car and get German plates. Was supposed to do it a year and half ago but never got round to it. Never had any bother from the police but with Brexit approaching, it might be time.

Give the car a much needed oil change - I feel ashamed to say I've neglected this whilst my car has been in Germany. Would anyone recommend a flush before changing it?

Change the spark plugs

Get some new rims and drop it. Completely stock at the moment but want to make it look more aggressive. Looking at some CSL reps, Eibach springs and some spacers to make them flush with the arches.

Well my winter work has started but has come to a halt due to there being a problem with the oil pumps that where in the UK so they are on back order could be Jan before I get hold of one.

Car on axel stands
Under trays off
Rad fan out
coil packs out plugs out, cloth to plug the holes
steering pump and rack off
engine oil drained
cross member off
ARB off
control arms off
sump pan off eventually

Bearing caps off and a moment of panic or rather a day or so as I had never seen sinter fractured con rod/caps before

I have ARP bolts, King race bearings, sump gaskets, and a few other bits
New control arms on there way from auto doc
New belts etc from carparts4less
