What is this?

I was just looking at photos of another Z4 and noticed that in place of the rear centre console cubby hole there is a panel with some switches on it:



Any idea what they do?

Hard to see the icons, but they look vaguely like the roof. Never seen anything like that before...

Yeah I've seen lots of Z4 interiors but never seen anything but a cubby hole there. Looks OEM to me, if not a very good custom!

It's the BMW emergency assist buttons, just google images "z4 assist" and you will see.

Is that standard with Assist? Mine has it on the menus, but no buttons...

Nooo.. There's clearly one button to fix your mobile phone for you, and another to apologise if you just cut someone up.

Wouldn't have it on mine - that's where all the screws go when I'm taking the interior apart!

Ooh nice, I like the look of that I actually found a couple of stray wires near that spot while changing my interior, maybe that's what they were for!

Found it on RealOEM, it's in the diagram (21) but not listed for some reason.
