Can anyone point me in the direction of the charger mentioned in the below picture:

Alternatively, if anyone has got on in the Birmingham area they wouldnt miss for a weekend, I'd be very grateful.

The engine has to be off for it, in ignition position 2. But I'm retrofitting xenons and needs to check voltage so wants a constant voltage I think.

Do I need some sort of special external charger?

Quite often, when reflashing a BIOS on a computer, or when upgrading an embedded operating system (e.g. iOS on your iPhone or iPad) it will want a known battery condition or indicated connection to a mains charger so that the power doesn't go out mid flash and "brick" your device. I'd suspect this is what is being looked for here.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there is another battery charging port that you can connect to. See what other's opinions are as I've never tried coding but I would have thought if you have a battery charger that can do a trickle charge, just hook it up to the battery and see what happens. In Progman, can you see the indicated voltage?

This is correct, but I'm not sure what charger will do the job. I keep my CTEK plugged in when coding but its only for short periods of time and the above message isnt displayed for key/car coding.

Is there not a patch for SSS for this. I installed it to get into the retrofit menu and disable the seatbelt chime, occupancy mat. If I'm wrong I'm sure somebody will correct me shortly.

Im into the retrofit menu, will let me go pretty much the whole way through but at the last bit wants a charger :-/

Would it work with a set of jump leads from another car which has its engine running?

I saw that when the guy was coding my car.

He plugged the battery to charging thing.

Yes there is, I also used it when disabling my seat belt chime too.

It turns out that for all of the retrofit menu in SSS you need a voltage of 13v. The issue that many people has is that their cable won't transfer the voltage to the software properly. So yes, there's a patch for the software that will override what SSS thinks the voltage is to 13.6v.

Took me a while to install the patch, if anyone wants to know more PM me.
