German,,, verdeck = cover (roof), fernbedienung = remote control. I assume it"s for key operation.

That’s not a bmw part so can’t be factory fitted? It’s an aftermarket item :?

It's not, it is an aftermarket accessory.

Well just too add more spice to the pot, I removed it and the roof still works with the key.???? Defo looks aftermarket not bmw though, thanks ronnie

Seems like a wiring mess as well! Insulation tape everywhere!
