What is this part???

I found this in the trunk of my new-to-me Z4. It looks as if it snaps into something at its two corners. The part numbers reveal very little, though I noticed somewhere a description of "rear window shelf" (????).

It has a snap-in rubber layer if that means anything, with a nice honeycomb pattern on the bottom. Any ideas?

I also found a square plate in the trunk but figured that one out from the manual - it covers the pass-through once I remove the ski bag and the rear ski support rod. I don't ski, so out those go.

Also, my car has the "Smokers" package, which has the lighter and ashtray installed. Can I easily remove those items and install a regular bin, or whatever was included without the smokers package?

Alternatively, someone was 3D printing a cup holder https://bimmercup.com/page/contact, but has given up due to incessant pestering about long shipping times :headbang:

if you or someone you know can 3D print, he might be able to supply the design.

Isn't that a three-tiered tray that can be used for storage in the tunnel to the trunk space?

Wow, that looks like the shelf I have x3 and a shelf holder. I only have one shelf.

Looks like I might be scouring the web for two more shelves and a frame.

Agreed that is off the shelf in ski hatch, took mine out and store tyre fluid and pump in there.
 
I have some spare shelves and the door into the boot, only problem is that someone broke the retaining catches at the top of the door but you could use some small self tapping screws at the top to keep it closed.
I managed to source a replacement door and it had a couple of shelves with it.
Probably cost more to ship it though.

I'm only missing two shelves, I have the third and the door.
If you're stateside, shipping two shelves would be pretty cheap, probably $10 with USPS.
