What is this hose?

So in the pic you'll see the engine bay of my E85 3.0i.
There is a hose that looks like it's collapsing and is misshapen.

Do I need to do anything about it?

It's a coolant/heater hose - but don't think it's normally 'distorted' like that.

Doesn't it go towards the front of the car and an expansion tank?

No, it seems to go into the block just behind the disa flap. Then to the firewall into a solid plastic pipe. Over to the other side of the engine bay and into a big disc thingy that the brake fluid resivor is mounted on?

Then is it the vacuum pipe for the servo assistance?
If so, collapsing is not a good thing!

Looks to me that it is the top hose connected to the sucking valve, oem link here but it dosn't show the top hose or where it goes, can't find it so far in other diagrams, checked using a 2003 E85 3.0i

Bugger, I was reading the number from what I thought was the bottom of the hose, when in fact it's a completely different hose that 'underlaps' at the bend

Not too clear on the diagram as yours connects to a solid pipe to go over to the brake servo as its a vacuum line.
Put your last 7 letters and digits in on oem site to find your particular car then check under the brakes section to see those applicable to your car.
Should be able to pick up a length of suitable diameter hose at a motor factors, no need to go BMW for that.

This is the problem I had, I tried realoem this morning an NOTHING seems to show this hose. Which makes no sense to me at all.

If everything was back to normal at the mo I'd just pop down to the Jayar down the road but I can't do that right now!

Plus car is on stands and the wheels are off right now anyway.

In which case, having no servo brake assistance is not really a huge issue

That is definetly the vacuum pipe to the servo. They all go like that after a while. Mine was a lot worse so car will be ok to use for a while. I think new pipe for my car was about £18 from main dealer. You can probably get them sent through post.
