What is the purpose of these two areas?? SOLVED

Hey all

Super newbie question here.... What is the purpose of these two spots in the door to the center console storage area? The thin area has a little holder - maybe for a pen or a tire gauge?? The larger area has a rubber-like pad with a velcro strap... I thought maybe it holds a phone, but not sure why that would be. Also, is there a tab missing or broken across from the velcro strap?

One holds a pen / pencil. The other is for a calculator or note pad.

Actually, I'm going to stick pencil in there because I often do need one to jot something down. I'm going to use EVERY aspect of this awesome little car. haha

I put a pen in the smaller area and my rolled up registration and proof of insurance in the velcro area

I pulled out the velcro strap. It looked way too short and was only inserted into one slot. It'd be nice to print out a plastic locking piece to secure a wallet or....? I'm not sure what practically could go there honestly.

The larger area was designed to hold different phone kits. Back in the day I added mounted my iPod there via velcro and ran the cable to my Intravee which was behind the bulkhead.
