Really interesting thread as I'm in a similar situation and looking for something else. Some good suggestions that I hadn't thought about, but unfortunately Euro vehicles are so much more expensive here, it puts the likes of the F-Type a bit out of my reach (e.g. a 2014 F-Type convertible with 18,000Km is around 40,000GBP).
What is the next move from a Z4C?

A Cayman is a big upgrade in terms of handling.

I tried a GT86 and it was a big let down really. Not as fast, the handling was a little better, interior was more up to date, but lower fuel economy and higher road tax.
I am liking the idea of the F-type, pity out of all of them it's <1% that are manual.
