what is "The Life" for you?

Amazingly I have reached the age of 66 and have everything I want. Can't complain at all. I don't know really how it happened, all I did was work hard, play hard, and enjoy life.

No work any more (well I do one day a week consultancy - pays very well and gives me a release from potential boredom). Got a good final salary pension, in real terms I'm better off than when I was working. I have a lovely wife and great house, change my car every 2 years, every day is a holiday.

I hope it lasts for a few more years at least!

never having to worry about money again would be nice but i would fear that it would lead into a massive amount of insecurity as your mind slowly started to distrust anyone who came near you for fear of them gold digging etc.

i like ruby' idea about a steady income that allowed you to do what you needed. i truly think that i would never be able to reach a place that i would be happy.

I am doing quite well at the minute.
Nice house big enough never to have to move. We have a mortgage that is less then half what the house is currently worth (not bad for 32)
have the zed as weekend toy
Have a new TT as an every day car
best of all I have a wife i not only find hot and sexy. But is also a great friend and i couldn't be without her.
We have money in the bank.

The only things i could say could be improved are. More expendable cash we save a lot it would be nice to have a bit more for fun things. And more time as we both work long hours i do at least 55 hours a week with the day job. And the the monkey stuff on top to help pay for my hobby (the zed) But i can see a light at the end I would like to hope in ten years time my life could be very different and I will have the time if not the cash.

For me it depends who I'm with as much as where.

Surprisingly I'd take rain and altitude (with a view of course) watching weather fronts arrive and experiencing the changing temperature. I'd take fresh made tea and a light lunch followed by a steady motorcycle cruise to the coast - the sea always does it for me.

All this with my wife as pillion or in a convertible. Finish my 'This is the life' day with a flight along the coast in a small two seater on a very still afternoon/evening with brilliant visibility.

You just have this all planned out don't you? :lol:

Ha - well to be honest I have done it all already. . . . not necessarily all on the same day - but that would be something like my 'This is the life' day.

Haven't got anything on my bucket list not already done bar a free fall (did have an experience of it at Milton Keynes Airkix - that'll have to do now) and have done far more than I ever thought possible so nearly every day is 'This is the Life' - I suppose it depends where your expectations lie. . .
