What is the Coupe like to live with?

Silly question...but why does the rear have a different (lower) profile to the front tyres? Will they rub if the the car has 225/40/18s all round? 40s look a fair bit cheaper than 18s

Because they are wider. 255 on the rear and 225 on the front.

The rear wheels are also wider so you really need 255 unless you want that horrible euro look.

Pleased to hear that kind of 'economy' Rusky. Got a trip to Cannock and back tomorrow so measuring mine then. Hoping having no 6th gear won't do too much damage.

Even better yesterday, while not the most thrilling of drives but cambridge to solihull showed an indicated 38.6mpg!!! Thats as good as my wifes cooper diesel countryman!!!  :driving:
Now i have proven it can do that sort of mpg   :driving: its not something i want to prove again

I am embarrassed to say that today is the first time I have washed my car since I got it

1500 miles in and so far 2 tyre valves replaced which resulted in one scraped wheel which resulted in a repainted wheel. One nail in a rear RFT resulting in a pair of Hangkook (is that how you spell it?) non RFTs on the car plus purchase of a 17" space saver and jack (received today). New windscreen last week following a chip. Hope my luck improves.
The tramlining is terrible at times and I wonder if that is because it is still on RFTs on the front? It is also poor in crosswinds.

Looks great!

Wide, low-profile tyres are prone to tramlining, but having RFTs does make it 100 times worse. The fronts are far more critical than the rears that this respect.

These cars should be better than most in a crosswind, but if you are really worried you should get a roadster for its lower profile (and then the real fun begins...). :D

Roadster? No, I like the better handling of the coupé thanks :D

I can tell - by the way you have successfully dodged debris in the road. :D

j/k

Just how good is your eyesight if you can spot a nail?! I'm registered blind I'll have you know. I heard and felt the nail immediately but it was too near to the edge of the tyre.
