What-even on the e89?

oops...sorry didn't notice it was an E89...then I've no idea , but I could find out really quickly by using a search engine !!

On the e89 (where this question is posted) the bonnet, wings and roof are aluminium, not sure about the boot lid, but the rest of the car is steel including the doors.

Happens all the time, don't worry about it. Its why I emphasise it so that it doesn't get confusing.

Arent the sills and bumpers plastic ?

I believe so... I think the OP was wondering about the main body panels and doors etc.. BMW consider the sills and bumpers 'trim' lol.

If its a boy, slugs and snails and puppy dog tails. If its a girl, sugar and spice and all things nice! :D

I read that the reason the rear is made of steel is to balance the car up so it's not nose heavy. One test driver said it handled better with the roof stowed keeping the weight down & towards the back
