What is the best OBD scanner for 2003 E85 Z4

ok so my transmission light came on this morning and the car went into "limp Mode". The tranny was acting just fine and has never showed signs of going out so I am thinking this is a senor of some sorts. I need to get a scanner so I can get the codes but I need some feedback from you guys. What are you guys using and would a Bluetooth/WiFi OBD tool work with an app like Fusion?
