I found this error code scanner, could I kindly have some feed back on the best one to get, things to look for and also do these suckers really work? It says you can also reset things where as some of the others you can't.

Any suggestions on what to get if not this one please? Anyone got one for sale?

Thanks, Pat

thats expensive for what it is, you can reset the services stuff manually see http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=183

get something like this

Then you can code car as well

Someone know any scanner for the airbag light? I bought one on ebay that said it would fix the airbags but it didn't.

I'm gonna have to agree with Mac the cable he linked and BMW SSS V32 software seems to be the best option, bought Bavarian Techic before I really got into this and it works ok for what it does, but limited.

There is a lot more bang for the bucks to be able to code thing you want the car to do.

The easiest way to sort the airbag light is via Inpa or DIS software which is included in the links above. The light will stay on if you have a fault though.

So if I buy the ebay cable linked above and install some software on my computer I can fix it by myself? Is the software free? Please explain more, I'm not from UK

yes if you buy the cable it comes with software which allow you to fix it yourself. There are plent of threads on here about the software, SSSv32, DISv57 and INPA

SSSv32 - allows you to set options for key / car memory, this is BMW software. you can do retro fit options and turn seatbelt warning off !!!

DISv57 - BMW diagnostic software to check and clear faults

INPA - shows live data and can clear some faults

other software:
Navcoder - you have to buy this separate but can do TV in motion and set LCM for various thinks.
NCSexpert - This is coding and for experts

here is a list i compiled for coding
