It's a bit early for Christmas quizzes, but found this lurking in my Z4 last week. Any ideas?

It's not one of the 2 rubber caps I removed at the rear before fitting the hard top... They were definitely rubber and this is finest BMW plastic.

Hmmm... I can't see where it would go now that the hardtop is in place. I only found one. Not that that means anything.

Its not an essential, but fits on the side points where the roof hinges are, just behind the door jams. (Above the drain holes)

My guess is that it goes here to cover the rear hole allowing the hard top to locate in the front one:
