Looking to buy a Z4 that will be a daily drive (20k miles per year) and also the occasional track day car (3 per year), so what would be better an E89 35i or E85 3.0?

Is the 35i any good as a track day car, I know the E85 handles well on the track but I'm not so sure about the 35i, yes it's quicker but is it as good?

Probably depends on what kind of tracks you frequent,
tight & twisty=e85
Long straights with sweeping curves=e89
Fair bit of difference on price as well :?

Odd question. Large difference in purchase price. :? If you spent the equivalent dosh on a 3.0si I suspect you could build a nice track weapon. That would be lots of fun. Stop better, corner better, produce similar lap times and a larger smile. :driving:

But I just speculating. :)

35i can be had for for £13k ish now...

I would go for E89,remap and a set of coilovers....

You would have to spend £10k+ of mods on an E85 to get even close....

My thoughts..... :fuelfire:

I have an E89 28i - and I track my car - its been modified and handles very very well - as its 100KG lighter at the frount.
