What iPod kit??

So I will be picking up our new Zed (December 2006 2.5 auto) soon and would realy like an iPod kit. The car has a MFSW so if I could use that it would be a big bonus or the normal radio controls, I would like it be as oem as posiable (just a lead running to the ipod in the glovebox rather than a mount)

Also looks like I will be getting the remote roof module from these guys, http://www.reinhold-engineering.de/. Remote close is very very cool. One touch and on the move operation will be next lol.

OMG.... its started already lol :D

I originally bought the connects 2 kit,at a cost, inc.charger,of £76. but this isnt compatible with the Carver/DSP HIFI Options if u have them,so be carefull.

I now have the oem BMW kit, which vary in price from £100-£150,dependant upon what hi-fi u have(i.e,more costly for the dsp compatible one).
it fully controls the i-pod(i have 4th gen nano),from the cd/radio head unit and charges when connected. u assign "playlists" to it,rather than individual albums, etc.
if u want albulm selction,i think u have to goto a Dension gateway 300/500,or Intravee, etc;which arfe dearer still.
hope this helps

Dension IceLink Plus also a good choice if you can find one on ebay. Virtually the same as the BMW offering but with a bit more functionality.

unfortunately this one has round plugs and not flat ones, but if you can find the right loom would be a good choice.

Reinhold modules are very good, I have both of those also one touch and remote roof are used all the time.

Dension gateway 100 is what I used. Was very good with the wheel controls. Not good on Satnav after retrofit though. Its a shame you didn't put this post up a week ago as I ve just sold it on ebay. :|

Yeah, the lower models of densn g/way dont work with the dsp/carver kit, omly the 500 does,or at least thats what a dension instlr said,so u need to check what oem hi-fi u have :)

Just a standard system in the car so it looks like I can save a few ££££.

Thanks for the help
