What have you done to your E89 today

What is the consensus - 5 years and change again?
The dates on the relays isn't perfectly clear on the 2 i just changed but looks like
it could be 2010 week 43 or possibly 2016 week 43. Its been a garage queen
though and had done under 19,000 miles when i bought it in March this year

Installed a ProClip phone mount. It is pretty big, but holds my phone well, and I can turn it sideways to get out of the way of the Navi when needed. Need to get a black phone cable as the white kinda sticks out.

Also got a sunshade finally. Fits really well.IMG_8419.jpeg

Drove home from the MOT with no advisories and blew the doors off a chavved-up 325i who tried it, just another win for the N54 over its malformed cousin, the N53.
The N53 is literally the worst of all worlds.

Take an N52, strip out the reliability and have all the unreliability of a first generation N54 with none of the performance benefits.

Decided to swap out the Ferodo DS2500 pads on my Shelby Mustang 350R front calipers..

These are truly huge pads..

Ironically due to their size etc I'm not getting enough heat into the pads and they are 'galling' on the discs resulting in a odd brake shudder from time to time under medium braking..apparently a well know foible.. either brake like a looney or use a different pad..these are Brembo's stock street pads..very few choices for this baby..

Of course smaller discs / calipers probably OK..

Size does matter..

Box cutter blade for size reference

Nice anti rattle shim too!

No more 'no brakes' on the first stop of the day

It's currently that hot in the UK that I've just started to use a sunshade in fear that the extended leather dash will start melting 🤣
